Reflecting on our Strengths and Weaknesses (Fellowship Reflection Series #8)
10:35 am Monday, (August 22, 2022)
I can’t believe we completed the two months of fellowship already.
We kicked off this week thinking about emotionally intelligent leadership with Tamryn. General results of our group Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) results were shared and we unpacked the strengths and weaknesses as a team of the 11th cohort of Echidna. We had taken the assessment at the beginning of our fellowship. The individual feedback based on that will be shared in multiple blocks during our residency which is one of the many things that I am looking forward to. As we were unpacking that we were glad to know that as a team we are achievement-oriented, and empathetic while at the same time we value teamwork and inspirational leadership. Similarly, our areas of improvement are emotional self-management and influence.
Few important questions that I have been pondering after the session are:
- What is my relationship with conflict?
- What is the exit point for me in any relationship?
Meanwhile, the idea of pseudo-community was new to me. Here we understood the importance of chaos and how can the chaos be managed by creating psychologically safe environment. As we were focused on building competency for ourselves along with building a community, Tameryn also emphasized on finding a place to recharge and balance. We then set our contract ourselves for the fellowship.
Then we moved ahead reflecting on how are we coming across among each other. How does one see the other person and what are we expecting to do when we are together. It gave us the opportunity to grow more close. With this I can’t wait to meet all of them and have further conversation this week. Hopefully !
